I watched as the snowflake hit the window and melt as I tipped the paper cup of hot chocolate in my hand as  my father takes my hand in his momentarily. Being with him was always good, being back in his old apartment with is old friends always made him happy and he never let me forget he loved me.

I knew I chose right.

“You may want to wear the scarf  too it's cold,” he said as he pulled out of the drive thru and down the street

I gave him a knowing look and pulled the patchwork scarf around my neck. I moved my foot to the smooth jazz he listened to.

We finally arrived outside of the parking lot.

"You have your keys, right ?" he asked

I smiled and kissed him goodbye jingling the apartment keys in my hand as my boot met the gravel with a click.

I waved good bye as he went on to his errands and headed the rest of the way across the parking lot on foot. As I walked I adjusted my ponytail weaving my way through the crowds. I  stopped to look out into the towards the port and at the pier of the Thames River. I always told Sawyer the Miami beaches put the murky river to shame.

I turned back to the gigantic  enclosed stadium, it was so picturesque. I wondered around and finally took a seat at the bench against a building, I saw a plauqe and read it;"To God I resign my spirit; my life to my country" 

It was nice even though I wasn't sure what it meant. I turned my back to it and stared into the crowd.

I suddenly spotted arms waving at me with two tickets in hand. He was wearing a dark blue jacket and pants with the white cap just over his eyes. He looked just as I remembered him.  He came towards me and we held each other. I kissed the side of his face, leaving a smudge of sparkly lip gloss on his face. I laughed and  rubbed it of  his face, with my glove.

"Do you ever take these off ?" he joked taking my hand in his white gloved hand and warming it up.

I would take them off when he work short sleeve.

"So," Rhett said as we headed for the entrance, "Are you okay ? What have you been up to ?"

I took a deep breath before starting.

I had so many things to say.
